I thought this would be a good medium to exchange ideas. For whatever. Hopefully so that we can hash out some details outside of gametime. Details like how we will handle payroll. Or planning how to improve the prison.

In a perfect world, what would your character have to better perform his duties?
I am looking into some serious crafting down the road with the magical/technological infusion Eberron theme. If there is something that you would like, let me know to keep it in the back of my head in case I gain the ability to make it some day.
At present, I am pondering how to craft DnD needles and sleeping potions to help subdue prisoners and make certain things run smoothly. I have pondered a psionic mood altering gas to keep prisoners happy. I have pondered rings of substance to keep prisoners encased in steelglass cages without need to feed them or remove their waste products from the cells in a seemlessly closed cell without entrance.
And of course I have pondered flying devices... this is all down the road. I figured I might not be the only one dreaming and thought that if I were going to do shit like this I might as well find out if there are things that other people would eventually like to attain for their purposes. Like magical manacles. Or hats of disguise. Whatever, let me know.

Wow, those are great ideas Dave Buckley, give yourself a pat on the back for me, you devilishly smart and great looking hunk of manmeat. I can see why so many people chip in their ideas here, you all work together so great. I am in awe of the cooperation. We should all be so proud of ourselves. It's really great that we can resolve BS on down time and not on gamenight so that gamenight can be gamenight and not internal party conversation without resolution night.

should i post or get a mop? :'(i am happy you have alot of ideas and i do come here to check them out.but understand so far this thread is all what your charicter is about and wile i feel i want to contribute it is diffucult. i only creativly think about d&d mabe two days a week and one of those days is gameday.i love the campaign and love to play in it but it simply does not enter my thought prosses.i am sorry if you feel you are the only one who cares or who makes an effort but its not true.basicaly just dont get discouraged if i dont post all the time its just me.i read it all but im not usually in d&d mode and dont know how to respond.any way you have my deepest apologys(cant spell for shit)if my lack of posts have offended you.

Intelligent rides...... Option A = more intelligent creature. Either natural (a pseudodragon) or enhanced (iuon stone of intelligence). Option B = special class-based thing. Paladins get horses, casters get familiars, something like this. Unlikely, but possible to attain a smarter mount this way. Option C= communicate with the horse. This is possible via magics and spells. This is likely the best option and probably most effecient means to attaining these ends. Still does not stop a stupid horse from doing stupid things however. Become the Horse Whisperer. Option D = a magical horse. Permanent Phantom Steed. This is really cool I think, but that depends on what your flavor for the steed is. Option E = Construct a horse. This is possible as an effigy per Complete Arcane or a bizarre golem type thing. This is the second worst option, since it is very costly. Option F = polymorph. Find something intelligent and change it into a horse. This is the worst option since an intelligent creature would not want to become a horse. I mean you could call a shapeshifter up and convince him to let you ride him, but would you want to if they would even let you?

I have reached the point where, given enough time and GP, I can make many wondrous things. Things to make your horse smarter for one. Things to make you stronger for another. I lack the spells and would need those either cast for me or a scroll for them. After that, everything could be gravvy on the intelligent horse operation.

There is a feat for making spell damage of one type subdual. This is something I would be wise to pursue, as my fellow casters too.
There is also a feat in the Exalted Deads book that allows subdual attacks to not have the negative penalties, for all my melee friends taking the hits and giving them right back.

Gabriel can see through illusions, but we could be struck by polymorphed/shapechangers infiltrations. Can Darius recognize the scents of people in town? That would take care of that. But we should make some effort to test the guards a little more carefully upon hiring them. Detect EVIL (aka the piss test), an intelligence test, and a personal interview.

i can determine familar scents the way you would determine visuals but i dont if when a shapechanger changes so would its scents

I was more getting at a shapechanger assuming the form of Tinks. How would we ever know? I am assuming you could scent that out you scenting fool. You should pursue this with the DM to see if you can be our resident bloodhound. Come to think of it, we actually have hounds too, don't we? We should train them to bark at strangers as a clear sign of infestations on two legs.
In other news, there is a feat in Complete Psionics that the warriors in the party would like. It allows you too take your attack of opportunity to prevent the person from running away. It is called Stand Still and is perfect for bounty hunters.
